These reports offer analytics and insights, such as enrolment trends, profiles of out-of-school children, econometric analysis, barriers to schooling, and contextualized policy recommendations
Country study findings are underpinned by quantitative data and are envisaged to stimulate education policy dialogue amongst stakeholders and strengthen evidence-informed and equity-focused education planning and programming.
We hope that these reports help governments and partners to better target and support the most vulnerable children for inclusive and equitable quality education.

Estimating the number of out-of-school children
This paper is a follow-up of the India Report on Out-of-School Children (UNICEF & UIS, August 2014). India was one of the countries which took part in the first phase of the Out-of-School Children Initiative. One of the important reasons why the India Report was useful was because it highlighted the issues of data quality and data contradictions among existing education data sources. Since the publication of the report, several new education datasets have been released in India. In this paper, indicators of school participation are calculated by including these new datasets to highlight the similarities and differences in different data sources and the possible reasons for these.

The tools and methodologies developed in this regard were used to inform and guide this Out-of-School Children Study in the Eastern Caribbean in an attempt to assess the scope of and reasons for any exclusion.

This report outlines the results of the survey “Out of School Children in Ukraine – A Study on the Scope and Dimensions of the Problem with Recommendations for Action”, which was conducted in January 2016 by GfK Ukraine, with the support of the UNICEF Country Office in Ukraine. The necessity of this study was determined by the impact of internal migration from the non-government controlled areas (NGCA) to other regions of Ukraine, on the education system, as well as by the lack of complex data on IDP access to school in the areas of settlement.
